Pro Bono Opportunity: Protective Order Project

Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) and San Antonio Legal Services Association (SALSA) partnered to develop a pro bono Protective Order Project. This is an excellent way to get great experience with clients and in the courtroom. SALSA provides training, resources, and mentors throughout the life of a case.

Domestic violence rates have significantly increased as a result of the pandemic. As members of the legal community, we are the only ones that can help survivors by representing them in their protective order cases. SALSA has had an exciting first few weeks of the project that have shown how critical the need for this service is in our community.

If you’re not available now, no worries. SALSA is asking interested volunteers to sign up to be on their call list so that they can reach out to you at a more convenient time. You can sign up to volunteer here: PO Program Signup.

Please consider signing up for the project today and SALSA will work with you to assign a case at a time that is convenient for your schedule.

If you have any questions about the project, please contact Hilary Showers at [email protected]. She’d be happy to discuss the program with you.
