Upcoming Events

Please join us this Wednesday, December 7, 2016 for the second installment of SAYLA’s new bi-monthly program, “War Story Wednesdays,” featuring Roy and Bobby Barrera.  Program begins at Noon in Judge Renee Yanta’s 150th Judicial District Courtroom.  Free lunch provided to the first 30 SAYLA members and their guests, so plan to arrive early!

About the program:  The first Wednesday of every even-numbered month, we will listen to war stories from San Antonio’s most distinguished trial lawyers and deal makers.  Without the substantive law requirements imposed on traditional CLE events, we can discuss the hilarious, heartwarming, encouraging, and doubtlessly entertaining exploits of our Bar’s most famous folks.  Funding for this year's programming is supported by a generous grant from the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA).

The San Antonio Young Lawyers Association, better known as SAYLA, was formed in 1948 (unofficially) and 1950 (officially) as the San Antonio Junior Bar Association, an entity of the San Antonio Bar Association. In 1974, the members of the Junior Bar officially formed the corporate structure that is now SAYLA.  (See more about the early history on the About SAYLA page.)  SAYLA continues the great traditions formed by the Junior Bar by providing opportunities and avenues for young and newly licensed attorneys to network with other attorneys and non-attorneys, socialize, learn and earn CLE credits, give back to the community, and enjoy their chosen profession.  We hope that this website is helpful to you.  Please use the menu at the top to navigate the site, learn more about SAYLA, become a member, renew your membership, find out about upcoming events, and more.
